Love Story
Meghan met Serghei in 2015 while bartending at a beachfront restaurant in Hollywood, Florida. A coworker introduced them, and Meghan says she was instantly drawn to his quiet, attentive demeanor. Unlike the loud personalities she had dated before, Serghei was reserved, thoughtful, and seemed to anticipate her every need. He stayed in the hotel attached to her restaurant just so they could spend every day together, taking her to dinner, shopping, and romantic evenings by the beach.
After only a few months of dating, Serghei proposed on New Year's Eve. They married just days later on January 8, 2016, convinced they had found their happily ever after. For Meghan, who had spent years struggling as a single mother, she believed she had finally found a true partner and the stable family she'd always dreamed of.
Marriage & Building a Life Together
Before meeting Serghei, Meghan spent years raising her son largely on her own after her son's father struggled with addiction. She worked multiple jobs, often went without food so her son could eat, furnished her home through dumpster diving, and dreamed of one day owning another bar after previously operating one successfully.
Meghan was born as the result of an affair. Growing up, witnessing the fallout of infidelity deeply shaped her values and reinforced her belief that marriage was a lifelong commitment, making Serghei's eventual abandonment all the more devastating.
Serghei embraced both Meghan and her son, making her believe she was finally getting the complete family she had always wanted. He treated her with kindness, helped provide financial stability, and encouraged dreams of building a future together.
Early in the marriage, Serghei decided to start a cable company despite having little industry experience. Meghan supported him wholeheartedly, introducing him to contacts and believing they were building a business empire together. The company quickly expanded into utilities and energy, becoming increasingly successful.
Cracks Begin to Show
Serghei began his own business. As Serghei's businesses grew, Meghan says he began changing.
He started traveling constantly without her, flying to places like Italy, Germany, Ireland, and New Jersey while becoming increasingly secretive about his work. The more successful he became, the less involved Meghan felt in his life.
Disappearance
In late 2023, Serghei told Meghan he was flying to New Jersey on business.
While he was away, Meghan was unexpectedly served with an eviction notice for their marital home. Confused and frightened, she called Serghei, who told her not to worry and promised he would "take care of it."
Instead, professional movers arrived to pack Serghei's belongings into shipping containers and send everything to him. After that, he vanished.
He stopped answering calls, emails, and text messages, blocking Meghan on every platform without ever explaining why he had left. There was no conversation, no goodbye, and no request for a divorce.
Despite repeatedly telling him she would willingly sign divorce papers, Serghei refused to meet with her, allegedly telling her, "You'll never find me."
Aftermath / Attempts to Find Him
After losing both her husband and her home, Meghan spent months couch surfing while sending her son to stay with family so he would have stability.
She has tried repeatedly to contact Serghei through phone calls, emails, social media, and legal paperwork, but remains blocked everywhere. Without the financial means to hire a private investigator, Meghan has attempted to track his whereabouts herself through his social media posts and public business appearances.
Although Serghei continues posting online and appears to be living a successful international lifestyle, Meghan says he refuses to communicate with her directly or participate in divorce proceedings.
She also believes he may have another relationship and suspects his family may not even know she exists.
Why She Needs to Find Him Now
Nearly two years later, Meghan remains legally married to a man who abandoned her without warning.
She wants answers about why he disappeared, whether their marriage was ever genuine, and whether she was simply used to help him remain in the United States.
She also desperately wants to finalize their divorce. Because they are still legally married, Meghan says she has been unable to fully rebuild her life, purchase property, reopen the bar she's dreamed of owning, file taxes normally, or move forward financially.
She also believes she may have a legal claim to assets created during their marriage.
Most importantly, Meghan wants accountability. After giving nearly a decade of her life to Serghei and helping support him before his success, she wants to finally confront him face-to-face, understand why he abandoned their marriage, and close this painful chapter of her life.
Looking back, Meghan also questions whether marrying her may have benefited Serghei's immigration status. After they were married, she learned he had overstayed his visa and had been facing deportation proceedings before their marriage allowed him to remain in the United States.
