Background
Jeremy first met his love in Phoenix, Arizona. Her name is Sharla but everyone knows her by her nickname, “Cash.” He was working as a DJ at a club and she was working as a dancer. Their connection was immediate. What began as casual flirting quickly developed into a serious relationship.
Over time, Cash became deeply integrated into Jeremy’s life. She developed a close relationship with his two children, Emma and Tony, often stepping into a stepmother style role and presenting herself to others as part of the family.
For Jeremy, who had already experienced a painful breakup in the past, the relationship felt meaningful and stable. Friends often commented that the two seemed perfectly matched, both outgoing, adventurous, and fiercely loyal to one another.
Eventually, their relationship became serious enough that Jeremy proposed. The two became engaged in 2022 and began making plans to build a life together.
For the past two years, the couple had been maintaining a long-distance relationship. Jeremy was living in California while continuing to travel for his DJ work, while Cash remained in Phoenix, Arizona, where she said she was helping care for her mother who was sick.

Wanting to finally live under the same roof and start the next chapter of their lives together, Jeremy and Cash began discussing where they could afford to buy a home and build a stable life for their family.
After researching housing markets around the country, they agreed the Midwest offered the best opportunity to buy property rather than continue renting.
Together they began searching for houses online, reviewing listings and discussing features they both wanted in a home.
Eventually, Jeremy decided to relocate first and handle the home-buying process while Cash finished helping her mother in Phoenix.
Jeremy moved to Webb City, Missouri, where he began touring homes and narrowing down options the couple had discussed together. After finding a property they both liked, he placed an offer, secured the house, and began preparing for Cash and her belongings to join him there.
At this point Jeremy was the sole provider. Cash was not working while taking care of her mother. He sent money to Cash to live off of.
The plan was simple: once everything was finalized, Cash would pack up her belongings in Arizona, rent a moving truck, and drive to Missouri so they could finally begin living together and start their new life in the home they had chosen together.
The Disappearance
June 2025: In the weeks leading up to the move, everything appeared to be on track. Jeremy helped coordinate the move and sent Cash money to help cover moving expenses, storage units, and other costs associated with relocating.
On the day she was supposed to leave Arizona, Cash told Jeremy she was picking up a U-Haul truck and would soon be on the road.
At first, Jeremy received a few short messages confirming that she was handling the logistics and preparing to drive to Missouri. Then the communication stopped.
Jeremy’s calls went straight to voicemail. Text messages were no longer answered. Concerned that something might have happened, he began reaching out to friends and contacts to see if anyone had heard from her.
Soon after, Jeremy began noticing something strange. One by one, he discovered he had been blocked on Cash’s social media accounts. That’s when it became clear: Cash hadn’t disappeared because of an accident or emergency. She had cut off contact completely and vanished from his life.
The Financial Impact
Jeremy says that in the months leading up to the move, he had been helping Cash financially while she prepared to relocate.
Between covering bills, sending money for moving expenses, and helping with other costs, Jeremy estimates that he sent approximately $14,000–$15,000 before she disappeared.
The house Jeremy purchased in Missouri had been selected largely with Cash’s preferences in mind, leaving him now living in a home he might not have chosen on his own.
Jeremy’s Search for Sharla
At first fearing something bad had happened, Jeremy checked hospitals and looked for any reports of accidents along the route she would have taken while driving from Phoenix to Missouri. No results.
Jeremy monitored Cash’s social media accounts, eventually realizing he had been blocked across multiple platforms, which confirmed to him that she had intentionally cut off contact. In the days and weeks after Cash disappeared, Jeremy tried multiple ways to track her down and figure out what had happened.
Jeremy continued calling and texting Cash in the days after she was supposed to arrive in Missouri, hoping she would respond or explain what had happened. No response.
Jeremy reached out to Cash’s mother to see if she knew where Cash was or whether she had heard from her. She denied that Cash was staying there or caring for her. She didn’t know where Cash was.
Jeremy began asking friends and contacts from Phoenix if they had seen or heard from Cash or had any information about where she might be.
Jeremy reached out to Cash’s sister who also denied having information to Cash’s whereabouts.
Ghosted Again: A Father Navigating Abandonment
For Jeremy, the situation carries an especially painful echo of the past.
Years earlier, the mother of his two children abruptly walked out of their lives as well, leaving Jeremy to raise their son Tony and daughter Emma on his own. From that moment forward, Jeremy became their only consistent parent, working to provide stability and a sense of family for his children.
To this day Jeremy has not been in contact with nor does he know where she went.
When Cash entered their lives, she quickly developed a close relationship with the kids and stepped naturally into a stepmother role. For Jeremy and his children, it felt like the family they had been missing was finally coming together.
Through it all, Jeremy says his focus has remained the same: making sure his children feel safe, supported, and loved, even as he continues searching for answers about the woman who vanished from their lives.
Unraveling the Mystery & Searching for Answers
Where was she really living? Cash told Jeremy she was staying with her mother in Phoenix while preparing for the move. But when Jeremy contacted her mother after she disappeared, her mother denied that Cash had been staying there, raising the question of where she was actually living and what she was really doing during that time?
Was there another relationship? Jeremy later heard rumors through mutual acquaintances that Cash may have been seeing another man in Phoenix while maintaining her relationship with Jeremy.
Was Jeremy unknowingly funding a double life? Jeremy now wonders whether Cash was involved with someone else the entire time, and whether the money he was sending her was supporting another relationship.
Did she ever intend to move to Missouri? Jeremy wants to know whether Cash truly planned to marry him and build a life together or if the plans to relocate and buy a home were never real.
Where did the money go? Jeremy estimates that over the course of their relationship he spent nearly $15,000 supporting Cash and helping prepare for their move. Jeremy would like some of this money returned.
More than anything, Jeremy wants answers. He wants to know why the woman he trusted vanished without warning and to finally hold her accountable for the impact her disappearance had on him and his children.
