Love Story
Before she met her husband Heath, Jennifer was a teen mother, raising three children on her own.
April 2001, Jennifer met Heath through a mutual friend. He was in a relationship at the time, but as soon as he left that relationship he pursued Jennifer.
July 2001, they were officially a couple. Heath stepped into Jennifer’s life and her three children’s lives. Heath proved to be a loving, considerate partner to Jennifer as well as a stable and affectionate parental role to her children.
August 2007, after six years together, they married at a small gazebo on Bradley Beach, New Jersey with friends and family.
The Accident
September 2013, Heath was working construction on a JCP and L Electrical line when a live ground wire hit him. He died instantly.
Medics resuscitated him three times. Eleven minutes with no oxygen. Doctors said he would likely be a vegetable.
Against all odds, he woke up and to everyone’s amazement he fully recovered. He regained all of his mental capabilities but did sustain some physical injuries.
Because of the accident, he wasn’t able to work construction any longer, which was a major blow to his ego.
The Settlement
2013, Heath sued the electrical company and received a settlement from his accident, roughly one million dollars, (at least $600,000 after fees.) He was elated and loved the thrill of having the kind of money he had always dreamed about.
Jennifer isn’t sure what he spent the money on. He’d buy entire stacks of scratch-offs, vanish to Atlantic City, or blow cash on cars and friends. To this day Jennifer doesn’t know what happened with the considerable settlement funds.
The Disappearance
In April 2022, Heath walked out. No goodbye, no explanation, just gone.
His clothes, ID, and birth certificate were still in the house. Jennifer assumed he’d be back in a few days. He didn’t come home and she couldn’t find him.
On November 7, 2022, Heath finally showed up after disappearing. He apologized to her, explaining he was trying to work on himself and now needed back into the family. She didn’t trust him, still in shock by his absence and behavior. Instead of letting him stay at home she sent him to stay with a neighbor for the time being.
That was the last time Jennifer saw her husband. His phone went dead weeks later. His social media went silent. He vanished completely.
The Search
At first, Jennifer thought he was punishing her… ghosting her to prove a point. But when he stopped calling their children too, she knew he wasn’t coming home.
She called friends, checked hospitals, and messaged mutual contacts on Facebook. Nothing.
One post from a friend said, “Yo dude, you okay? Haven’t heard from you.” Heath replied once: “Just got out of the hospital.” No one’s heard from him since.
Theories
Theories include that Heath might be couch surfing, drifting from one friend’s home to another, taking odd jobs, while gambling and looking for ways to make money.
Another theory is that Heath is living with his mother in Georgia.
There’s a possibility that Heath is in a new relationship. He always liked to be taken care of, and it’s possible that he’s with a new woman who will allow him to do what and as he pleases.
Before Heath left he had a lot of unsavory people come and go from the marital home. It made the children uncomfortable and it made Jennifer uncomfortable. It’s quite possible that Heath became involved in some type of illicit activity.
Why She Needs to Find Him
Jennifer wants to be able to purchase her own home, but she can’t get out of her lease without her husband.
Jennifer wants to travel abroad, but can’t get a passport for her youngest son, as he is a minor, without both parents present.
It’s not only Jennifer who was abandoned. Her two daughters, Qua’ajah (Jennifer’s daughter from a previous relationship) and Jetai, Jennifer and Heath’s biological daughter, are both impacted as a result of Heath’s disappearance.
Heath’s abandonment has made his daughters feel unloved, disliked and worthless.
They’ve development abandonment issues because of his disappearance. Today, they’re conflicted about finding him. They are furious, confused, sad and hurt. They’re not sure what to do with all of the emotions and unsure how they’d manifest if they’d see him again.
