Heather
Wife: Heather Age 51
Missing Husband: Chase Age 44
Location: Granbury, Texas
Disappeared: June 2025
Length of Relationship: 19 Years
Love Story
Heather met Chase in 2006 while they were both working at a restaurant in Dallas. She was a bartender and mural artist and he was a charming artist and musician with big dreams and an even bigger personality.
They connected over creativity, humor, and healing. They both decided to stop drinking together, eventually celebrating six years of sobriety together.
They lived as husband and wife for two decades under Texas common-law, sharing leases, finances, and friends who described them as “the couple who couldn’t live without each other.”
They have been together for nearly 20 years.
The family referred to them as a married couple, and they referred to each other as husband and wife.
Marriage & Life Together
After several years in Dallas, they moved in with her parents in Granbury, Texas, helping them renovate their home.
They shared a white shepherd named Banksy, a birthday gift from Chase and Heather’s constant companion. She absolutely adored and was bonded to their shared pet.
They had recently been talking about moving again, possibly to Albuquerque or Atlanta.
Breakdown
In early 2025, Heather began noticing a change in Chase. He grew increasingly restless and withdrawn, spending long hours away from home and losing interest in helping with the house.
They were living rent-free with her parents, who had only asked that Chase contribute to household chores and ongoing renovations but he had stopped doing even that.
To Heather’s parents and those close to them, it began to seem as though Chase was taking advantage of their kindness.
Despite this change, Chase and Heather were more in love than ever.
Disappearance
On June 6, 2025, Heather came home from work expecting to find Chase and Banksy waiting for their evening walk. Instead, his car was gone.
She expected them to be at the local park where they often spent time, but they were not there. Banksy was gone too.
She came home to discover that on their bed was a handwritten note:
“Heather, I’m leaving you. Sorry, I had to do it this way or I never would have left.”There was no explanation of why he left.
Within hours, Chase had blocked her number, emails, and all social media accounts.
She tried his family, but the only person who responded was his mother, who said that she wouldn’t get in the middle of it, but that Chase was okay.
Relieved that he was okay, she continued to reach out to other family members who didn’t respond.
Chase even blocked and ghosted their close, mutual friends. None of their friends knew of any plan to leave or disappear.
There was no argument, no warning, and no explanation, just two decades of a deep, committed relationship abruptly cut off.
Aftermath / Attempts To Find Him
Heather tried everything: contacting family, reaching out to his friends and colleagues, checking online databases. For a while, she believed Chase was living with his half-brother in Springfield, Missouri.
Julia, Heather’s sister, daughter found a blog page with Chase’s photo but a different name after he had disappeared. It was only active for a couple days before he took it down.
Heather suspects he may have moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, a place that they had discussed moving to together.
He left behind items that made no sense to abandon: valuable heirlooms, guitars, and personal memorabilia.
He even left a coin collection that belonged to his late father worth nearly $10,000.
Heather and her family believe there’s more to the story, possibly cheating, hidden money, or an inheritance that prompted him to leave.
According to Julia, Heather’s sister, Chase was doing therapeutic micro-dosing of mushrooms, experimenting under the guide of a so-called “therapist”
Heather can’t bring herself to reconcile the person she knew with the person who ghosted her. Taking the dog was also especially cruel. She therefore believes it could be a midlife crisis, or a mental lapse.
Why She Needs to Find Him Now
Heather wants answers. After twenty years together, she deserves to understand what drove Chase to disappear without a trace.
She hopes to confront him, learn the truth, and finally find closure or maybe, if there’s still love left, reconciliation.
Heather admits that if she was able to meet him face to face, and get past his disappearance that she would gladly rekindle their relationship.
If she isn’t able to reconcile she wants to dissolve their common-law marriage and end the relationship once and for all.
Heather also wants to be reunited with her dog.
