Love Story
October 13, 1992: Brandy met Jason at a teen nightclub in Indiana when she was 17 and he was 19.
Jason came from a wealthier family, while Brandy was from the wrong side of the tracks. His family made it clear she was not good enough for him, but love kept them together. The family’s disapproval would haunt and cast a shadow over Brandy for decades.
By Thanksgiving, he was joining her family for dinner, charming her parents, and by December, they had already moved in together.
They built a life side by side and raised two daughters, Kayla and Gabrielle.
For more than twenty years, they were partners in every sense, building homes, moving for Jason’s construction jobs, and creating a life centered on family and resilience. But they were not yet married.
2017, after Brandy nearly died from a severe blood infection, Jason told her the only thing he hadn’t given her was his hand in marriage. A week later, they wed in a quiet backyard ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina.
They later became grandparents to two little girls, Madalynn and Anslee, born just three months apart.
A Family Broken by Tragedy
2018, the couple’s world fell apart when their six-year-old granddaughter, Madalynn, was killed in a car crash.
The loss devastated the entire family. Brandy and Jason could not even be in the same room without breaking down.
Brandy says, “We didn’t know how to help our daughter, and we didn’t know how to help each other.”
The tragedy marked a turning point, one that neither of them ever truly recovered from.
Control
Throughout their marriage, Jason managed all of their finances and accounts, leaving Brandy dependent on him.
Her name appeared on bank documents, but she never had access to funds or passwords.
In Florida, he took full control of their apartment as well as their vehicles.
She now believes the control and secrecy were signs of what was coming, that Jason had been planning his disappearance long before he left.
The Disappearance
November 4, 2023: Brandy travels to Miami to visit her husband, Jason, where he was working. They spent an entire week together visiting, going on dates, enjoying the beach and spending quality romance time with one another.
When it was time for Brandy to leave, the farewell was emotional and intimate. There was hugging, kissing, crying, and repeatedly saying “I love you.” Both of them fully believed that they would see each other again next month for their anniversary in December.
Brandy flies back to Indiana, and they remain in close contact throughout her travel day, talking during the flight and after she lands, giving no indication that anything is wrong.
Within days of her return home, Jason suddenly stops communicating altogether: no explanation, no warning, cutting off all contact while Brandy desperately tries to reach him by phone, text, FaceTime, email, and social media.
Brandy spirals with fear and unanswered questions: Did I do something wrong? Is he okay? Is he alive?
After several weeks she finally accepted that he wasn’t going to respond and that he had disappeared.
Attempts to Find Him
Brandy has tracked police records and online databases in multiple states but has found no clear trail.
She believes he may be working in North or South Carolina, continuing his disaster relief work under a new address or company.
Occasionally, he reappears online, liking one of her TikToks or posting a familiar photo, then disappears again without a word.
He still refuses to file for divorce, leaving Brandy legally bound and emotionally trapped.
She thinks that it’s possible that his family has paid him off to sever ties with her. Or they have encouraged him to find a different woman and move on.
Brandy also believes it’s possible he’s evading divorce so he doesn’t have to divide their money and assets that should be entitled to.
Why She Needs to Find Him
Brandy is still legally married to Jason and still tied to him emotionally. She has loved only one man in her life, and that has never changed.
Despite everything, her heart is not closed. If Jason is willing to face her, speak honestly, and seek help, she is open to reconciliation.
But if that is not possible, she needs the truth so she can finally breathe, heal, and move forward.
