Kelly and Quinton are a married couple living in Sedona, Arizona. Settled in the heart of the picturesque red rock desert, their home is a rural retreat that offers out of town guests an opportunity to disconnect, relax and re-orient themselves. Kelly recently left the corporate world to start a small, private therapeutic day spa and Quinton works remotely as a software specialist. Kelly and Quinton live in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood with panoramic views of the red rocks. They have a 180 sq. ft. private studio casita that they would like to improve and rent to out of town guests. Sedona is known for its relaxing energy and alternative forms of healing including gong baths, crystals and energy vortexes that are believed to have concentrated energy. Enhancing and updating various features of the guest quarters will improve rent-ability by creating a tranquil and relaxing space that is on par with their “million-dollar” desert views.

Kelly and Quinton have a Himalayan salt room next to the casita, which provides a place for guests to detox and relax, but they would love to extend the salt room and incorporate an entire salt wall by the head of the guest bed. The casita features a small kitchenette, which they would like to expand in order to encourage long term stays and accommodate guests who prefer to cook their own meals. The guest bathroom feels old, especially the shower, and needs to be updated. Kelly would like to incorporate the motif of her spa into the bathroom, creating an oasis for her guests. Kelly has also decided to offer her guests a therapeutic foot treatment! The couple wants to add outdoor features so that guests can feel comfortable enjoying the panoramic views from the backyard. A fountain, lush plants and garden art would give the backyard the finishing touches that it’s been lacking. Quinton is an avid hiker and outdoorsman and would like to offer guests personal tours of the area and the Grand Canyon, (which is only an hour and a half away.) These enhancements will increase the value of their rental space and provide the couple with the extra income to go on vacation to Thailand where they hope to visit an elephant sanctuary.
