“Right-Hand-Sister”
Patrix and Patrica's are vivacious, loving and extremely close sisters who wear their hearts on their sleeves. They are each other’s person and have always been close from the minute they were brought into this world. They were born to Mattie and Jethro while the family was stationed in Japan. Patrix is three minutes older than Patrica and has always felt like she is the "big sister" in their relationship, protecting and doting on her younger sister. To this day, they have lived parallel lives and still have an intrinsic need to be part of one another’s day-to-day existence. Technically Patrix has an apartment but she rarely uses it as she spends the majority of her time living at Patrica’s house (much to the chagrin of Patrica’s husband!) Each and every decision they make; they make together because the sisters see their two lives as one.
Patrix and Patrica start each day by greeting each other and saying good morning followed by their favorite morning ritual - dry brushing each other! The duo swears by using their dry brush on each other to keep their skin healthy and helping with lymphatic drainage. They follow up their dry brushing session with a walk (in matching outfits) alongside their shared pet dog, “Jiggy.” They are able to feel what the other is feeling. When one twin is in despair, the other twin feels it simultaneously. During Patrica's pregnancy, Patrix had the same symptoms as her sister!
Patrica was born with a third of her fingers missing on her right hand. From an early age, Patrix has been protective of Patrica as a result. Not being one to tolerate bullies, Patrix has made sure to stand up for her sister and boost her confidence as it relates to her hand. After all, Patric is a beautiful and loving person who has a happy marriage and three wonderful children! Patrix helps Patrica with some tasks that are difficult to perform without two properly formed hands. Patrix will help her sister by cutting her toenails, shaving her armpits and applying her makeup. Patrica feels like Patrix is her "hand extension." For Patrica, she feels like no one could possibly understand her like her sister. Though her quality of life isn't impacted significantly, Patrica still feels her sister is essential to her security and mental safety. Safety is an important element of the sisters' bond. Fourteen years ago they lost their older brother who was their third musketeer. The loss of their brother impacted them greatly, and only solidified their bond as sisters. They know only too well that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed and to never take the people you love for granted.
Patrica has been married to her loving husband Ron for over two decades. Together they have three sons, Jeremiah (18), Logan (14) and Ethan (12). Ron is flight attendant for Delta and travels frequently, leaving P2 to spend as much time together as possible. Ron considers the ladies his “sister-wives” since they are always together, even on their date-nights! The trio certainly turns heads when Ron waltzes into a restaurant with two sisters on his arm! At home it’s not uncommon for Ron to be kicked out of his own bed so the sisters can sleep together… or for Ron to not be able to watch TV on his couch because the sisters have marked the territory for themselves. Patrica and Patrix have deemed the living room "off-limits" to anyone else in the house. It is their sanctuary to spend time alone together (with Jiggy!) and it is where they feel the most connected in the house. They love to do a "toast" with their wine glasses and be close to each other.
Patrix has been deemed "Momma 2.0" in Patrica's house because she is always there, and the two ladies raise the boys together. It creates confusion between who really has authority. Is it mom and dad or is it mom and her sister? Since Patrix is always at Patrica's house the kids will ask her for permission to do things in addition to Patrica and Ron. She is the third parent in the boys' lives, whether they like it or not…
Patrix is single and looking for love! Patrica has high standards when it comes to Patrix's choice in potential suitors and the sisters agree that Patrix's choice in men is one of the only topics that they disagree on. Patrica says that whoever Patrix dates need to fit in with "them," meaning her and Ron. So much so that any man needs to meet with her and Ron first to see if it really is a fit! Patrica will call Patrix during her dates needing to know every detail from who she’s with, to what restaurant she’s at, to what he’s wearing. Patrica also asks Patrix to send her a photo of her dinner plate so she can see what Patrix is eating! Patrix loves to "third wheel" on dates with Patrica and Ron, but men don't approach her because Ron is a "guard dog" and men don't know which one of the women is single! Patrix says it's hard to date because finding someone who accepts and understands her close relationship with Patrica can be a challenge.
Patrica’s oldest son Jeremiah is moving out of the house this fall to go to college in Florida. The sisters secretly detest Georgia even though their parents live there. They instead dream of moving to Florida full time. Their sneaky plan is to move Jeremiah into college and secretly get an apartment for themselves. They will slowly start to spend more and more time in Florida using Jeremiah as an excuse until they have moved their full-time. Ron doesn’t really know about this idea and the sisters like it that way. They would prefer to make the transition just happen without much discussion until Ron can’t help but to be onboard. It will be a major adjustment leaving their parent’s Mattie and Jethro. Even worse, they aren’t sure if Georgia-loving Ron will truly be game for such a big life transition.
Patrix and Patrica own an interior design business together with their mother, Mattie. Although the three of them are incredibly close, Mattie often times feel left out of the sister’s impenetrable bubble. Whether they mean to or not, Mattie is often on the outside of the gal’s plans thoughts and feelings, usually stirring arguments and resentments among the three of them. Disagreements both professional and personal are a daily occurrence for the three of them.
The sisters have been united for their entire lives, and this next chapter will test if they will continue to be together. Will Patrix and Patricia really be able to move to Florida together while balancing the wants and needs of Ron and their parents? Will Patrix ever be able to find a life partner? Will Ron really be able to share his wife with his sister-in-law forever? Only time will tell.
