Julia moved to Los Angeles from Guatemala when she was three years old. She has always loved fashion, all things feminine, beautiful, quaint and charming. She would spend hours decorating her room with anything pink and purple, all while playing dress up with her dolls. In high school, Julia's fashion design really started to blossom. Her family had sewing machines and she would create her own style and looks with original and homemade designs. Today Julia is a full time clothing designer, who has created her own version of a dream home that she shares with her daughter, Octavia.

Ready for more space for herself and her daughter, Julia set out to purchase a home. The home she found was originally an old rehabilitation center that needed A LOT of work. Not to back down from a challenge, Julia set out re-designing the entire space. With the help of her family, (her dad is a contractor!) Julia gutted the home and re-built it into her singular vision. Along the way, Julia was inspired by a pair of pink, heart shaped rocking chairs. Everyone thought she was crazy for their so-called, “gaudy” style, but Julia loved them so much she kept them. It was downhill from there! Everything then became pink, white, cutesy, fun and over-the-top.

Her daughter Octavia is now in 3rd grade and absolutely loves her mom's place. Although Julia is no longer with Octavia’s father they have a close relationship and he’s part of Octavia’s life. While Octavia was in school online during the shutdown, classmates would see her home through Zoom and always ask for tours. Her house is the place to be for playdates! She even has a pink motorcycle and hopes to ride real ones when she grows up.

  • The show-stopping area is the backyard patio area that has hundreds of artificial flowers creating a beautiful, one of a kind floral ceiling.

  • She painted everything pink, the pool, couches, umbrellas, French doors. Even all of her kitchen wear matches her ultra girly pink palace garden energy.

  • After her father took out a large piece of wood on the porch to accommodate a trailer, she needed to find something to cover it. Adding to the garden aesthetic, she created a beautiful and unique floral wall in addition to the ceiling.

  • She describes her style as vintage and with Victorian inspiration and hates anything modern. Julia says she gets her style and appreciation for the classics from her grandmother and aunts.

  • Her favorite piece is a rare China cabinet with a fabric back.

  • Octavia helped her mother design a playroom that is all beauty salon themed. During COVID they would do their hair, manicures, and facials in the salon playroom.
