Mary Lou is a quirky and playful extrovert chef who can cook for and connect with just about anyone. She is relatable and strives to make cooking accessible and enjoyable. She has no problem infiltrating various groups and befriending the people around her. Davis has ample experience in everyday restaurants across the United States and can easily navigate and discern issues both obvious and subtle in a struggling restaurant.

Chef Mary Lou Davis is a San Antonio native, proud of her Southern roots and her style of cooking. While growing up, her mom was constantly working so she spent her time in front of the TV.  Anime shows such as “Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z”quickly became a part of her daily life. Three years ago, Mary Lou founded Geeks & Grubs in CA, a distinctive brand where she merges her culinary skills with the creative world of cosplay, concocting innovative dishes inspired by movies, TV shows, and diverse fandoms. Her cuisine is a cross between “Cajun Southern flair meets nerd.”

Davis’ journey began with formal training at the Culinary Institute of America, subsequently honing her craft across various renowned restaurants. During Mary Lou’s culinary career, she has “worn many hats” within the restaurant industry: FOH/BOH Manager, Server, Bartender, Busser, Shucker, Bar Back, Dishwasher, Cook, Prep, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, Line Cook, Chef De Cuisine and Executive Chef. The restaurants she has worked at include: Pappadeaux's, Perry’s Steakhouse, Tower of the Americas and Whiskey Cake in San Antonio Texas. She has also worked at Veridian in Oakland. CA.

Currently Mary Lou offers her expertise in private catering for intimate gatherings or sizable events, effortlessly accommodating parties ranging from 2 to 1200 guests. Her culinary achievements include being the youngest and first female POC as CDC at Front Burner Restaurants, a feature in Texas Women Magazine, as well as a feature in Eleven11 Magazine.
