Major Levison Wood is a British Army officer, world-renowned explorer, best-selling author, and award-winning documentarian known for pushing the limits of human endurance. A veteran of the Parachute Regiment who served in Afghanistan, Wood has carved out a unique career that blends military service with global exploration, storytelling, and philanthropy. Decorated with multiple military honors including the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan and the U.S. Army’s Army Achievement Medal, Wood currently serves as a reservist Major in the 77th Brigade and was appointed Chancellor of Staffordshire University in 2024. Levinson brings firsthand insight into the mindset, tactics, and survival instincts of warriors through history. 

He has led expeditions through more than 120 countries across every continent, from the Amazon rainforest to the peaks of the Himalayas. Wood has spent over a decade navigating some of the world’s most extreme environments, often face-to-face with danger, from crocodile-infested waters to conflict zones, sharpening a unique perspective on resilience, conflict, and human endurance. Beyond exploration, Wood is a celebrated photographer and advocate for wildlife and humanitarian causes. His recent work includes Walking with Elephants (2020), where he followed elephant migration in Botswana, and Levison Wood: Walking With... (2023), a wildlife-focused series. An elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Explorers Club, he blends intellectualism with practical field experience, making him uniquely suited to explore the psychology, mythology, and strategy behind the world’s most formidable warriors.
