Rykia and Karla are outgoing, outrageous and hysterical best friends who live life together… on their own terms. Rykia is Karla's middle child but her only girl and therefore her princess. Though Karla is going through a divorce, her daughter is adamant about getting her mom back out in the dating scene. Rykia is planning on running Karla's dating apps and swiping left to help her mom find Mr. Right. There are few boundaries for this outrageous duo. They don’t think twice about walking around together naked, to and from the shower, getting dressed or primping in the bathroom.

As an experienced and more mature maven, mama Karla knows the tips and tricks to light up the bedroom and she shares her advice openly and freely. Both Karla and Rykia have been known to record their intimate moments with their sexual partners and share the footage with one another. Mitchell just recently popped the question to Rykia and the two are engaged! The couple are excited about starting a life together, but there are some hurdles in the way. Mitchell is a career military man who is currently posted in El Paso, Texas. Mitchell will be reassigned to Killeen, Texas in November of 2020. Mitchell receives a month off of from his military duties, so the plan is for Rykia to come to Killeen so the two of them can look for a home together. Karla is telling the couple that the house better have a room for mom!

Karla was previously married to a man in the military and knows the difficulty that a long-distance, military relationship poses. Not only that, Karla doesn’t think that Mitchell is mature, responsible or ready for a serious relationship. Karla thinks that Mitchell has a long way to go before he can prove himself, “worthy,” to marry her daughter. With an impending move, Karla is gravely concerned about her daughter’s major life choice. Is she really going to let her daughter move to Texas for a man that she’s been in a long-distance relationship for only a couple years? Rykia feels as though her life is unfairly scrutinized by her mother. In her opinion, just because her mother’s marriage didn’t work out, doesn’t mean that hers won’t. One thing is for sure though, if Rykia is packing her bags, mom will be coming with her. Karla will be following her daughter to Texas.

Rykia and Karla’s story isn’t without its share of loss and heartbreak. Karla's husband died in a car accident when Rykia was only seven years old. Rykia was a "daddy's girl” so the loss for both women was traumatic and heartbreaking. However, they turned to each other for support and comfort. They site this terrible event as the reason why they are bonded together in such an inextricable way. Their relationship grew even closer when Karla became pregnant at only fifteen years old. Since Karla was a young mother herself, she couldn’t judge her daughter, and instead helped Rykia raise her son, Isiah (9), as though he was her own son.

Mama Karla is recently out of a long, and painful relationship. Now that she’s single, she feels as though she has a new lease on life. And now that she’s back at home, she’s closer with her family than ever before! She can’t help but to be sad that her daughter wants to break-up the family by moving. Another reason why Karla is against Rykia moving away to live with Mitchell is that Rykia has a "surrogacy contract" with a couple in Irvine, California. Rykia agreed to be their surrogate and went through one implantation that was unsuccessful. She wants to try again, and Karla says that seeing her daughter make such a selfless decision to help a couple bring a child into the world is one of her proudest moments! The thought of Rykia being pregnant and not living nearby is unthinkable for Karla and her sMothering ways!
