THE JACOT FAMILY
Kid: DAVION JACOT, 17 Years old
ParentS: SEAN & LAQUISHA
LAS VEGAS, NV
Davion lives and breathes wrestling. When he’s not training in the ring or building up his physique in the gym, he spends the whole day watching and taking notes on wrestling videos or brainstorming new characters, gear, merchandising and promo ideas. It’s just about all he and his dad, Sean, talk about, and Sean is 100% in support of Davion’s obsession. The two are even bouncing around the idea of Sean becoming Davion’s manager. And even though he’s his biggest fan, Sean also is his biggest critic. Sean and Davion watch back every video of his matches and pick apart every single move. And he doesn’t sugar coat it. If Sean thinks something doesn’t work, he says it and it’s changed. Sean was a wrestler and his father was a wrestler so it all runs in the family. Sean wishes he went after this wrestling dream like his son is and feels a bit regretful. It goes without saying that the father/son duo are super competitive. In Davion’s words, “If you’re not a monster, you need to work harder.”
The two are so close, Davion’s mom, LaQuisha, thinks the two seem to be more like BFF’s than father and son. They spend all of their time together, focused on Davion’s success. And with the number of hours and extreme amount of money Sean’s sunken into realizing this dream, there’s no turning back. LaQuisha takes a different approach. At first she was super hesitant and thought the chances of him making it were slim. Now she sees real potential and is excited for him to reap the benefits. She does feel like her ex-husband is too hard on him which begs the question: at what point does Sean need to step back and be more of a dad than a friend?
