  • Heather and Damani grew up together as down-the-street neighbors but didn’t start dating until they worked at the same job together as adults.

  • They dated for three years, were engaged for a year, and then were married on May 8, 2010. The marriage lasted happily for 12 years.

  • The beginning of the end began when Damani decided to leave his government contract job in Philadelphia. He was making great money and hadn’t yet reached retirement age. He blamed leaving the job on complaints about a stomach issue. It made no sense to Heather. Why would her husband leave a lucrative career that served him so well for so many years?

  • The couple had a daughter who went to school in Las Vegas. Damani loved Sin City and he always loved visiting his daughter in Nevada. After a while of travelling back and forth for visits, the couple decided to buy a place and moved to Las Vegas.

  • However, Heather didn’t want to give up her job in Philadelphia, so Damani moved by himself to Las Vegas to get the home ready for Heather.

  • However, when Heather came to visit Damani he was a different person. Sullen. To himself. Withdrawn. She was bank-rolling his life at this point. She left back to Philadelphia. She didn’t know at the time but that was the last time that she saw her husband.

  • In March 2022, Damani called Heather and she missed the call. When she called back 15 minutes later, Damani didn’t answer and never would again…

  • Heather can’t get in touch with her husband. She even called Taco Bell where Damani worked in April 2022, and Damani answered the phone and just set it down once he realized it was his wife.

  • Heather would never see Damani again by August 2022 he moved out of the house completely, and she has no idea where he is today. She knows he moved out because they let go of the house.

  • Heather thinks that Damani has possibly “lost his mind” and wanted to do and experience everything that he didn’t do when he was young: party. Drink. Be lazy. Have young girlfriends.

  • Heather is beyond the grief stage. She wants to get divorced and get some answers to why Damani couldn’t communicate with her
