Gloria Malka (53)

Los Angeles, CA

Homemaker

  • Gloria grew up in Peru and learned to cook Peruvian cuisine from her family there. It wasn’t until she moved to the States, met her husband, and converted to Judaism that she learned to cook Jewish cuisine.

  • She learned Jewish cuisine from her mother-in-law. She says she spent so much time in the kitchen with her and she was always extremely patient and helpful.

  • Learning to cook both styles of food only perfected her craft, and today she is known for her Israeli-Peruvian dishes.

  • Hanukkah is a big deal for her and her family. Every year they decorate their house, and throw a big potluck with their neighbors and friends.
