Carol and Tom are best friend siblings who have supported each other as they pursued careers in the arts. As a young girl, Carol loved to play dress up, and now that she is an artist living in Los Angeles, she sees her house as her chance to take that to an epic level! Full of not only costumes, but ornate decorations and even a “sparkle bathroom,” Carol’s house is now every girl’s dream house! From the retro kitchen complete with a pink refrigerator and yellow checkered tile, to the sexy dark red parlor room, this bling’ed out house has it all! And while Carol designed the house herself, she isn’t the only one who loves to spend time there - her brother Tom often brings his wife along and all three love to get decked out in fancy clothes and take photos in the Insta-friendly house.

Tom gets in on the action, suggesting accessories and always helping the girls if they need an extra pair of hands to hold their purses or zip up their dresses. He jokes that he knows he’s a good sport to play along but says that he really loves seeing how much happiness the house has brought his sister; therefore, he’s always happy to be the photographer or the furniture mover for the day - whatever Carol needs to get the room just right. And Tom has even helped Carol to make connections with designers to find unique or antique clothes that sometimes are borrowed by celebs and fans!

For these supportive siblings, the dress up house has been a fun adventure, and a fun project on which to collaborate. Because who doesn’t love to play dress up?!!

  • The French Angel Blue Dining Room has perfume bottles, crystal chandelier and 100% silk gold pleated curtains. It is also decorated with a white shag rug and cherub wallpaper with a light blue Rococo couch and chairs. And Carol herself painted a sunset sky on the ceiling.

  • Each room in the dress up house has a different motif, and a closet full of outfits to match! For example, the parlor is painted a sexy red, and the closet is full of outfits worthy of a Moulin Rouge photoshoot!

  • The vintage kitchen is painted yellow and pink, and Carol had to scour the internet and special order the small pink refrigerator because there are only a few left in the world!

  • For the bathroom, Carol wanted a true bling effect, so opted for glitter wallpaper. The bathroom also has a custom sink, brass, magenta and plum pleated curtains. As well as a series of crowns and other fun bling that guests can wear!

  • Even the hallway of Carol’s house is decked out in bling - this time of her own design. Her hand designed artwork hangs along the long bright hallway.

  • The bedroom is, as Carol describes it, “The room I dreamed of having as a little girl.” It has a Rococo bedroom furniture set and fringe lampshades on the lights. Carol has filled it with tutus and lace, plus satin curtains, porcelain trinkets and a big vanity to take selfies in.

  • Carol describes the living room of the house as, “Jayne Mansfield, Barbie, Betsey Johnson and the Madonna Inn… all mixed together. A pink piano, big satin Victorian couch and chair, heart shaped Victorian chairs, large teddy bears, a dollhouse she  made herself, boas, gold cherubs… This house has it all, including a sunrise sky painted on ceiling.”
