Arrangement: MARRIED & ENGAGED

Meet a trio that redefines love, marriage, and family in a way that feels both shocking and strangely normal…  Tyler and Diurla have been intertwined since they were teenagers, two kids from single parent households who found stability, love, and identity in each other. They were married young, built a life fast, and created a family with two children. On paper, it was the classic story. However in reality, something shifted. The romance faded, not in a dramatic explosion, but in a quiet realization that what they had evolved into something deeper, more enduring. They realized that they were best friends and not romantic partners. They broke up romantically, but decided to still stay married to one another. No divorce, no custody battle, no fallout. Just a conscious decision to remain partners and platonic best friends raising their kids side by side, living as platonic soulmates. They have lived as friends and co parents ever since, navigating life’s ups and downs as a married couple who are no longer romantic or physical, but remain deeply connected. Their relationship functions like a marriage in every way, just without intimacy, and is best described as platonic soulmates who are still something more than best friends.

And here is where the story takes another turn! Tyler’s best friend Chris, who has been in his life since high school, slowly became part of the scene. Over time, through shared history, trust, and proximity, Chris and Diurla fell in love. What could have easily become a breaking point instead became an expansion. Chris and Diurla fell in love over time, building a deep and meaningful relationship that has now lasted over four years. Today, they are engaged, raising their young son together, and fully committed to building a future as partners while still navigating their unique dynamic with Tyler.

Today, Diurla, Tyler and Chris all live together under one roof, raising four children as a single unit. There is no separation of roles, no step parent hierarchy, no division of “mine” and “yours.” It is one household, one family, and a parenting style built on complete trust and shared responsibility. Sometimes its chaotic and lines and boundaries are blurred and confused, but it’s one house with one confusing set of a trio of parents.

Diurla is the undeniable boss, Tyler overseeing the bigger picture, and Chris executing the day to day. They share calendars, meals, parenting duties, and even social lives. They spend nearly every moment together, from workdays on the couch to movie nights, family dinners, and constant group chats and FaceTimes when apart. Their friendships run deep, rooted in years of shared history, trauma, loyalty, and a chosen family mentality that means everything to them.

But their closeness also comes with blurred lines that would test anyone else. Privacy is minimal, boundaries are fluid, and comfort levels are pushed to the extreme. Bathrooms are shared, doors are often open, and nothing is really off limits. Even nudity is on the table. What might feel awkward or inappropriate to outsiders is completely normalized in their world.

Still, there are real stakes and ticking clocks within this dynamic. Diurla and Chris are planning a wedding, which forces the question no one can ignore. What do you do when you are still legally married to someone else who lives in your house and is your best friend? Do they finally get divorced, risking the emotional foundation they have built? Or do they redefine marriage altogether and move forward without legal change? They have even floated the idea of Tyler officiating the wedding, a surreal and deeply symbolic moment that perfectly captures the complexity of their lives.

And then there is Tyler. Single, fulfilled emotionally, but missing physical intimacy, he knows he eventually needs to find a partner of his own. But stepping into the dating world could disrupt everything. How do you introduce someone new into a dynamic that is this layered? What happens when jealousy, insecurity, or outside judgment enters a system that has worked so carefully to stay balanced? Diurla and Chris are eager to push him forward, helping with dating apps and encouraging him to take that leap, but the risk is real. One new relationship could shift the entire ecosystem.

The trio is navigating raising a family, planning a wedding, and managing ongoing tension and complicated family dynamics, particularly on Tyler’s mom’s side. Their lifestyle often draws skepticism from outsiders who do not fully understand or approve, but despite the raised eyebrows, this group is confident in their bond and would not have it any other way.
