ABANDONED BY HER HUSBAND:

JESSICA AND ANSON
ELLSWORTH, me

  • Former Mrs. Maine America Jessica Snowdeal met her husband Anson in 2003 at a bar in her hometown of Ellsworth, Maine.

  • The pair hit it off instantly and within a few months Jessica was pregnant with Anson’s son. They were married shortly after in 2005.

  • Anson began struggling with alcohol addiction in the last few years of their marriage.

  • As Anson’s alcohol addiction progressed Jessica’s relationship with him declined. In the Summer of 2021 Anson disappeared for six weeks. He abandoned Jessica and their three boys, but he remained in contact.

  • In October 2021 Anson was ready to return home and called Jessica to pick him up from a side street late at night. She remembers he seemed extremely paranoid, but things looked up as Anson was back home – or at least he was doing a better job of hiding his struggles.

  • By January of 2022, he was once again out of control and found Anson choking in a pool of his own vomit from drinking, vomiting and passing out. He was admitted to the hospital and intubated.

  • When Anson returned home from the hospital, Jessica proposed a plan for rehab. He agreed and participated in a 28-day program right away. However, when he was released, Anson went to the store and bought alcohol the very next day.

  • Jessica hoped things would get better, but she knew she was nearing her limit. She even mentioned to Anson that she might want to separate or get a divorce, because she was exhausted. The night before Anson’s disappearance, the family had an impromptu intervention with him where their middle son said his peace, and everyone cried together.

  • February 8th 2022: Jessica woke up early in the morning to work out, and Anson woke up at 4:30am and wanted to catch up on work. That was the last time she’d see or hear from him.

  • The kids said goodbye differently, Anson showed up drunk to drive them to school. They had an emotional episode, and Anson’s mother came to pick him up and take him to her apartment, where he’d stay while the family (Anson’s mom and Anson’s twin brother Lincoln) worked out next steps. That night, sometime between February 8th and 9th 2022, Anson disappeared for good.

  • Jessica immediately filed a missing person’s report with the police, and her friend helped her organize a search party. They printed flyers and spread the word in hopes of locating Jessica’s husband, with no luck.

  • Jessica believes Anson’s mother and twin brother might be concealing information about his whereabouts. Anson’s mother doesn’t leave her house, and Jessica knows she’d be blasting on Facebook for help finding her son if she thought he was really missing. Anson’s twin brother, Lincoln told people not to look for Anson because he didn’t want to be found. On the weekend of his disappearance, Lincoln went off on a snowmobiling trip which was suspicious to Jessica. Did they go somewhere together?

  • After he disappeared Lincoln told Jessica that he would help her move some of Anson’s work trailers and his tools. She refused. Then one day her home cameras turned off – she found out later that Lincoln and some friends were moving trailers off her property, with the extremely valuable toolks. She asked Lincoln to return the stolen items and he responded that “Anson’s tools were exactly where Anson wanted them.” When Jessica followed up by asking if he knew the whereabouts of her husband, Lincoln responded that, “he couldn’t share that information.”

  • Jessica took the footage to the police and had Lincoln arrested on a felony charge for theft because of the financial value of the stolen tools. Lincoln went to prison and upon his release began harassing Jessica online and blaming her for his brother’s disappearance. She believed that Lincoln and Anson were in contact at this time.

  • Jessica thinks that it is possible that Lincoln and Anson got into a fight and that Lincoln could have harmed or even killed Anson. She has no proof, but it would explain his erratic and strange behavior the week that he went missing.

  • Jessica also thinks that it is possible that Lincoln and his friends or co-workers could have hidden Anson in a remote, hunting camp that week, helping him to escape Jessica.

  • Anson was a contractor who accepted large work deposits from clients. However, he didn’t always do the work and would disappear with the client’s money. The construction company was in Anson’s name so Jessica was never privy to this information until his disappearance. It turns out that the police were investigating him, but Jessica didn’t know this. He told her that he had to speak with the police about a “disgruntled” client, but later learned that the actual reason was because Anson stole $50k from a client. Jessica believes that it’s possible that he left because of his financial and legal troubles.

  • After Anson’s disappearance, the police issued a warrant for his arrest for his illegal business practices. They also thought it might help spread his name to get more tips on his whereabouts.

  • Jessica admits that it’s possible that Anson might have fled and be living and having a relationship with another woman. Prior to his disappearance she would find dozens of messages on his phone to other women, trying to find a date and even telling them that he was getting divorced from Jessica, though that was not the case

  • Jessica isn’t sure if Anson is hiding or if something happened to him because she truly can’t believe he would have abandoned his children. She hasn’t been able to afford a private investigator, but she needs closure for her and for her sons.
