Michael met Ryan after he began dating Ryan’s sister, Lindsay, and the two quickly bonded over their similar personalities, humor, and ambition. At the time, Ryan had already taken a leap out of corporate America and into real estate, while Michael was still working as an elementary school teacher. Watching Ryan build a successful business, while genuinely enjoying his life and career, inspired Michael to rethink his own path.

Today, Michael and Ryan operate both independently and as a powerhouse co-listing team, combining two distinct personalities, skillsets, and approaches into one dynamic partnership. As brothers-in-law, best friends, and agents at the same brokerage, they’ve built a reputation for being able to sell just about any kind of difficult, stigmatized, or hard-to-move property. Together, they bring two perspectives, two strategies, and twice the personality to every listing. Michael is the more emotional, outgoing, relationship-driven half of the duo, someone who thrives on connecting with people, calming stressed sellers, and building trust. Ryan is the calmer, more analytical and strategic counterpart, direct, level-headed, and exceptionally skilled at pricing, negotiations, and solving problems under pressure.

Over the years, Michael and Ryan have seen nearly every kind of challenging property imaginable. From unrealistic sellers and contentious divorces to homes with bizarre layouts, stigmas, difficult locations, illegal additions, environmental concerns, and strange features like bathtubs in bedrooms or fogged-glass showers exposed to staircases. Very little surprises them anymore.

Their approach to selling complicated homes is multi-layered. One of their greatest tools is their ability to market through humor and storytelling. Through their “Property Brothers-in-Law” brand and social media presence, they create comedic, personality-driven videos that draw attention to listings people might otherwise ignore. Instead of hiding a property’s quirks, they lean directly into them, making homes memorable and helping buyers emotionally connect to the lifestyle or story behind the property. Their creative marketing has helped transform difficult listings into viral conversations that ultimately lead to sales.

Beyond the marketing, Michael and Ryan attribute much of their success to plain old hard work and a willingness to do the gritty, thankless tasks that many agents avoid, whether that means moving pets, staging rooms, painting walls, managing emotional family dynamics, spending hours on the phone with anxious sellers, coordinating difficult inspections, or helping clients navigate deeply personal situations.

Michael and Ryan’s approach to selling difficult homes starts with understanding the identity of the property itself. To them, every challenging listing has a personality. Is it quirky? Creepy? Luxury but awkward? A teardown sitting on incredible land? A hidden gem? A bizarre bachelor pad? Instead of trying to hide what makes a home unusual, they lean directly into it.

At the same time, Michael and Ryan believe selling hard-to-sell homes is just as much about people as it is the property itself. They’re deeply relationship-driven agents who genuinely love the business and the chaos that comes with it. They network constantly, build trust quickly with clients and agents, host energetic open houses, and relentlessly follow up until deals come together. Over the years, they’ve dealt with emotional estate sales, difficult inspections, divorcing couples, environmental concerns, bizarre renovations, stubborn sellers, and properties other agents refused to touch. But rather than getting intimidated, they thrive on solving the puzzle.

To them, selling difficult homes is about far more than square footage or commissions; it’s about understanding people, solving problems creatively, and staying persistent long after others would give up. That combination of hustle, authenticity, humor, and heart is what makes Michael and Ryan so effective at turning even the most challenging listings into success stories.
