Julian grew up glued to his dad’s hip in his restaurant kitchens where he fell in love with cooking. His father, Beto, was from a humble farming village in Mexico whereas his mother was from New York. Julian blends his father’s Mexican heritage with his mother’s European sensibilities for a category of cooking all his own. Julian is inspired to elevate and recreate Mexican classics as well as to explore European and American dishes.

In November 2016 Julian and his father Beto opened Beto & Son. Their venture was awarded one of the Zagat’s “Top 15 Hottest New Restaurants” in the United States in 2017. At the restaurant Julian is continually exploring, developing and fine-tuning their dishes. He’s most at home creating and inventing in the kitchen. Julian credit’s his family and his wife for his success. As a REAL family run restaurant, Julian’s wife, mother, and father all work together! He loves nothing more than to cook, host and entertain with family, friends and loved ones. Whether he’s serenading guests with his guitar or through his delicious cooking one can’t help be smitten by Chef Julian.
