Charlë considers herself the Mayoress of NYC and that’s for two reasons: she was born and raised there, and of course knowing everyone through real estate. She’s charming, blunt and tends to win clients over with her big smile. Plus, it doesn’t hurt she’s part of one of the top teams in the city, The Eklund/Gomes Team with Douglas Elliman. She’s now at the point of her career where there’s a barrier to entry in order to work with her, meaning at least spending $3 million when looking for a home. And her clients aren’t just in NYC, she’s licensed in CA too. Which was nice when her New York client needed their $9 Million dollar mansion sold. On top of all that, she also owns a multi-family building in Flatiron (her home turf) with her sister. Together, they are the only black family below 125th street that owns a property of that size. With all the work, she still makes time for fun. Charlë loves to go out, to party and to network, and has a huge group of friends. Unfortunately, last year, one of those friends suddenly died. Through that sadness she ended up meeting a new friend, Nicole. They immediately bonded over their feelings of loss and their friendship grew from there.
While Nicole is new to real estate, she’s in for a whirlwind coming aboard The Blatman Team at The Agency. She’s focused on downtown apartments that are between $2-10 million. The homes she’s been seeing are exclusive, luxurious and she can’t believe the inventory that’s at her fingertips. It’s been an intense learning curve with training, not to mention the team is very close, but she has no problem being the new girl. She likes being the mysterious, hot blonde. Before real estate, she worked in fashion for places like Vogue and Vera Wang. She eventually moved over to fashion PR, but didn’t see tons of scalability, so she went where the money is, real estate. She loves that it’s not an office job, constantly running around the city and entertaining clients at night. She’s learning the ropes and navigating the competition with ease. Because her social circle is high-net worth people and socialites her rolodex is her biggest asset. Truth is: she has this job from a company who doesn’t hire often because of her connections. Work is finally fun and she’s so happy she made the change. Nicole looked to Charlë not only as a wing woman, but as a mentor. She wants what Charlë has…. a mega-successful career and a loving and hot husband. But there was one thing Charlë wasn’t ready for… meeting Nicole’s friend, Anna.
Anna grew up in a very conservative, Pentecostal household. On top of that, her mother is an intense, Eastern European woman who prescribed her daughter laser treatments and Botox all in high school. She wanted to groom her daughter to be desirable from an early age in order to find a successful husband. But Anna knew that she couldn’t accomplish everything she wanted to in San Francisco. She wanted even more. So, she moved to NYC to achieve the lifestyle she couldn’t get anywhere else. And with that, she knew real estate would be the catalyst to level up her life. Turns out, she was right and Anna has stopped at nothing to get what she wants. As soon as she arrived in Manhattan she hit the ground running. In the two years she’s been doing real estate, she’s a top broker at Keller Williams, selling properties between $10-50 million. She’s showing townhouses for $40 million and even an $180 million Park Ave. Penthouse. The opportunities are endless. On top of that, she’s an influencer with 464k followers on Instagram attending events like the Cannes Film , The Oscars and the Monaco Grand Prix. Anna won Best Bikini Walk in the for Miss USA, and just launched her own swimwear line, Anna Swimwear. One wild night on the town she met a loud, fiery blonde bombshell, Nicole. It was a fast friendship and now, the two love to tear up the town going to the hottest clubs and of course, meeting guys. When Charlë met the two of them out she wasn’t sure about Anna, she felt like she was… a lot. But as the friendship blossomed, she realized that deep down there, under the façade, Anna was an incredibly sensitive and kind friend.
When it comes to love, this gal pal trio are all over the map. Charlë’s been married for one year to her Finnish husband. He’s tall, gorgeous and low key. But sometimes too low key, there are many of nights Charlë is out without him. Nicole is single and just got out of a tumultuous 3-year relationship with a well-known New Yorker, who had children. His divorce was so traumatizing that Nicole couldn’t handle it. Now she goes on dates quite often (with rich and powerful men) and is enjoying the single life. She’s spontaneous with dating too. She’ll drop everything to go on a trip to Asia with a guy she’s been seeing a couple weeks. Nicole lives in the now. She got that from her Puerto Rican mother, who’s been compared to Sofia Vergara. Anna is also single and jaded from the hectic, NYC dating scene. Date after date, she finds guys she really likes and they become intimidated by two things: her wealthy, powerful, male clients and her social media. But as she likes to say, this is her “Anna Era,” and she’s never going to dim her light for a man. She’s open to love but isn’t willing to compromise her career or her lifestyle for a man. They have to add value to her life if she’s going to carve out exclusivity.
Safe to say all three of these dynamic and bold women love the finer things in life. But how do they spend those commissions? Of course, our fashionista, Nicole, spends all of hers on clothes. She’s gotta look the part but on top of that, fashion is her first love. Anna loves to be liberated by taking exclusive trips by herself. She also loves to spend money on public relations: she buys magazine covers and puts herself on it. In her eyes, PR makes or breaks you! Charlë spends most of her money on the trips she finally has time to take. Private jets, caviar, new outfits and bags, she really throws down when it comes to time off.
While it was a different way to meet friends, Charlë is so glad she did. She loves how unpredictable and hilarious both Nicole and Anna are. There’s a true, vulnerable, sweet comradery that she’s forever grateful for. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they keep her feeling young and wild.
