Big, bold, beautiful, mom and daughter Cathy and Ashley are inseparably close, unapologetically brazen and their relationship is equal parts life-long besties and ride-or-die mother/daughter. Cathy and Ashley share every part of their lives with each other, from their mission to find the perfect man to planning a ‘FUPA’ removal procedure together, nothing between them is out of bounds. Ashley’s father has been out of the picture for many years, so it has always been mom and daughter against the world. Their incredibly close relationship is heightened by how similar they are, both in looks and in personality. They wear each other’s clothes on a regular basis, including underwear! They have the same hair. They have the same body. They are so alike that they’re regularly mistaken for sisters.

While the majority of their devotion to each other plays out on the physical plane, their intimate relationship extends into the metaphysical as they both believe that they have a strong psychic connection. Cathy had a dream about a little boy calling her grandma, immediately preceding Ashley coming home to break the news that she was pregnant with her first child. Ashley is the mother of Carson (14) and Lily (7).

While Cathy and Ashley are obsessed with each other and couldn’t imagine their relationship changing in any way, those who are closest to them are not as supportive. Ashley’s younger sister, Samantha, is NOT a fan of their relationship. Cathy lives with Samantha, Samantha’s two children, as well as with her son Cameron (Ashley’s brother, age 22) just down the street from Ashley. Mom moved in because Samantha’s husband left her and she needed help with her children. Now, while Cathy and Ashley are off on trips together, at nail appointments and living life together, Samantha is frequently left at home. Their relationship feels transactional, and it mostly revolves around Cathy taking care of Samantha’s kids while Samantha is at work. A streak of jealousy runs through Samantha and she will regularly attempt to sabotage Cathy and Ashley’s relationship to shift the focus on to her, even if just for a few minutes. Samantha and Ashley are very competitive with one another and are constantly battling for mom’s favor. Meanwhile, Ashley and Samantha’s brother, Cameron, is freaked out by his sister and mother’s relationships, both with each other, and also with the men that they have in common… 

These ladies are single and ready to mingle, however, the similar looks have caused friction in the dating department as it’s common to unknowingly match and go out with the same man! It doesn’t help that they also have the same taste in men. They’ve had to set up a rule for themselves: Ashley is forbidden from swiping right on a man 10 years her senior, and Cathy must swipe left on any man 10 years her junior, just to avoid the possibility of them dating the same guy ever again (they do break the rule from time to time though!)

They are both searching for Mr. Right, and typically will use dating apps to do so, but they feel strongly that selfies are not enticing enough for their dating profiles… so they conduct risqué boudoir photoshoots together – both mother and daughter playing the role of model and photographer. They’re the first to admit that sometimes they need extra spicy photos to entice the men they’re interacting with. Men are shocked to learn just who exactly took those salacious photos.

Even though Ashley and Cathy live right across the street from each other they cannot be apart for too long before Ashley starts to panic. This leads to all-day phone calls, no matter what they are both doing. It is common for Ashley to call her mother while she sits on the toilet, and nine times out of ten, Cathy will be on the toilet as well. They are connected every step of the way... Their devotion to each other has led to multiple matching piercings (nipples included) and tattoos. When Ashley came up the idea that they should both get tattoos on their, “hoo ha’s!” Cathy jumped at the opportunity. While she eventually balked at the idea of getting the phrase “Tasty Treat” permanently inked onto her “hoo-ha,” she settled for an illustration of a cupcake instead.

While Samantha and Ashley tend to go it alone through most aspects of their lives, there is one area of the family dynamic that all three women share: child modeling. Both Ashley and Samantha’s young daughters are active, and moderately successful, child models. Their family friend owns an independent magazine that produces and publishes the majority of the photos. It should come as no surprise that they are both managed by Mama-Cathy, who takes the reins when it comes to booking their gigs, their travel and lodging, and promoting them on social media. Of course, this arrangement also tends to cause some drama: when Cathy posts a photo of Samantha’s daughter, but not Ashley’s, Ashley grows extremely jealous. As their modeling careers continue to blossom, Ashley and Samantha will face the challenge of figuring out how to appropriately support their daughters’ trajectory without allowing their own internal aggravations to cause an implosion.  

In her personal life, Ashely is currently in the process of getting the paternity of her seven-year-old daughter. This has been the biggest disagreement between mom and daughter. Mom knows that in her heart that the father on the birth certificate is the real father. Cathy gets on Ashley’s case all the time to reveal the truth, but is hesitant to do so as she doesn’t want to rock the boat.

Over the next few months Cathy and Ashley’s dating pool demographic will be changing drastically: Samantha and Cathy recently sold the home they live in together, and the entire family (Ashley included, of course) is uprooting to Johnston, Tennessee! However, Ashley isn’t quite ready to sell her home, so everyone is moving in with Ashley for the time being. Ashley thinks it will be fun to have her whole family all together under the same roof, but Samantha is dreading it. She believes that this is going to be the final straw, the experience that finally puts a permanent crack in the foundation of their family’s relationship. Will these ladies be able to survive living together before they’re even ready to move to Tennessee? Only time will tell.
