When Billie decided to get into real estate, she wasn’t doing it for the money. In all honesty, she didn’t need to work with her inheritance. But she loved luxury homes and had such insane connections through family that she thought, why not? So, she joined Brown Harris Stevens and landed the heiress to the Tyson Foods Inc. as her first client. Being freshly new to the biz, she needed to meet with realtors in the city to get some guidance. So, her family designer set her up with Alan Chorm, a well-known agent at Douglas Elliman. The two hit it off instantly. He loved how she dressed, talked and looked. But he also admired how much she cared about the business when she didn’t really need to work. These two didn’t end up working together on that project, but they stayed close friends. Alan hung out in a crowd of all agents in their late 20’s and 30’s so Billie was thrilled to meet people in her new field. It’s how she met Kimberlee and the two ended up working on a client project together!
Kimberlee is known for being the loud party girl who loves to negotiate and has amazing one liners. She knew right after college she was meant to be in NYC and found a place in the West Village for her and her 5 friends. It was basically a sorority house. At the time she was working in finance but hated the desk job and wanted a job that was more client facing. So she got her license and got an assistant job at Douglas Elliman. She quickly moved up the ranks because of her network. After growing up a prep school kid, all her friends and their families’ needed places in the city. Today, Kimberlee focuses mostly on the West Village, Soho, Tribeca and the Upper East Side. Her largest sale was a $25M home and she has done some new development deals selling out entire buildings. She met Alan because she sat across from him at work. They both loved to party, so it was clear when they went out to lunch, that it would turn into bottles of wine and out for the night. Whether it’s about work, boys or their friends, Alan is basically a therapist to her. They’ve both been through a lot of highs and lows together. Recently Alan’s heartache has been the topic of discussion…
Alan met Praq a few years ago. It was love at first sight. They immediately started dating and combined businesses. Alan was the real estate and design portion and Praq was construction. After 2 years together, they got engaged and Alan quickly started planning their life. The issue was he was pushing marriage, kids and building a farm upstate all at once and Praq couldn’t handle it. They started the surrogate process and then went on a trip to Nice, France with all their friends. When they returned home, Praq moved out and ended the engagement. Alan pushed for couples counseling and they went one time but he quickly realized they weren’t compatible. So now, Alan is a bit heartbroken, but also wants to get back out there, casually date and constantly have plans with his friends. Kimberlee is a bit busy for him with her new boyfriend who she met during Covid. She quickly bought property with him in Palm Beach and has been back and forth from the city. He feels a void with Kimberlee being in her own world and has been leaning heavily on Billie. Billie is that friend who will plan a big night just to make him feel better. Whether it’s a dinner party, theme party, a fancy dinner at a membership club… she wants him to feel good again and deep down is happy him and Praq are no more. But the more time he spends with her the more he sees that her relationship isn’t as amazing as she makes it seem to everyone else.
Billie’s been with her boyfriend Brandon for 4 years. The two don’t live together or really talk about the future, which she’s insecure about. The truth is she doesn’t want to move into his apartment and would rather wait until they are engaged to buy them a new, bigger place with a view of Central Park. Since she has an incredible view of it now, she doesn’t want to be without it. One major issue in their relationship is that Billie is a flirt and she’s out every night. She must be for work, it’s how she gets clients who are looking to by $5M homes, which is her sweet spot. Alan is concerned because a lot of people have been talking about how they think Brandon might be gay. He’s never brought it up to her but worries this won’t last much longer. Billie’s got a big social life and wants a partner who fits into her vision. She’s the party planner, the boujie one with every shoe, handbag, and designer item you can think of. Plus, she’s big in the charity scene and a member of the Junior League Club, so she’s always had an idea of the type of guy who will blend into that. Right now, she thinks it’s Brandon, but her friends think otherwise.
When Alan isn’t selling $5-$8M townhouses, he’s out walking his 2 Bengal cats on a leash around Central Park. Saying Alan is an animal lover is an understatement. In his Midtown apartment he has 3 cats, 1 Goldendoodle and is on the list to get one more Bengal and a Bernedoodle. His house is chaotic but he wouldn’t have it any other way, they bring him comfort. Somehow, with all those animals, he still manages to go out 5 nights a week with clients and his friends. Billie, Kimberlee and Alan love to meet for dinner and drinks to bitch about their clients, love lives or plan their next European adventure. You’ll typically see them at Butterfly, The Blonde or Acme (Alan’s friend owns it). Lately Kimberlee has been telling the two about how she thinks her current boyfriend is the one. But Billie and Alan aren’t sure about that. He’s 8 years younger than her and from a very private and wealthy family. And with Kimberlee’s trucker mouth and cutthroat attitude, they just think it can’t last.
