Chef Adriana Urbina is a Venezuelan Chef, consultant, caterer and nutritionist with a passion for cooking. She founded Tepuy Collective, a female forward catering company, established with the mission of cultivating culinary opportunities for women and the Latin community. Growing up in Caracas, Venezuela her father encouraged her to experiment in the kitchen, toying with various spices and blends. Upon graduating high school (and without any experience) Adriana found a job at a local restaurant. From there she refined her talents through culinary school by attending the Sumito Estévez’s Instituto Culinario Caracas in Venezuela and L'Ecole de Cuisine Alain Ducasse in France. Before serving as an apprentice at Spain’s 3-Michelin Star restaurant Martín Berasategui and Mugaritz, Adriana also received her degree at The Integrative Institute of Nutrition in New York.
Adriana has more than 12 years of experience in the restaurant industry. With this experience comes many roles she has held during her career such as a Hostess, Server, Dishwasher, Line Cook, Culinary Director, Chef de Partie, Sous and Executive Chef. In Venezuela she worked in restaurants such as Mokambo, Alto, and Helena Ibarra. Gabriel Machado Restaurant Vantre and Magna in Paris. Martin Berasategui and Mugaritz restaurants in Spain. In New York: Rouge Tomate, Bakeri, Gabriel Kreuther, French Louise, Cómodo and De Maria.
